Triptans for Migraine Headaches
Triptan medications are commonly prescribed by doctors to treat patients with migraine headaches. These medications should be avoided in patients with cardiac problems such as coronary artery disease. Up to 25% of patients with cardiac problems are prescribed these medications. If you are being prescribed triptan medications for migraine headaches and you have a history of cardiac disease, discuss this with your primary care doctor immediately.
